Goodbye February

Like everyone else, I am glad to see the calendar change to March.  Snow, cold and ice just kept coming.  We haven't had a winter like this in a very long time.


At the house I still have a snow pack of about 24", hard as marble.  Travel about an hour or so west and the snow is completely gone.  Our elevation is about 2100 feet and I'm on a north facing side of the hill.  Great in the summer but I have snow long after it has melted elsewhere.


Anxiously waiting for those long March chases and the longer days to come.


February marks a couple anniversaries in the kennel's history.  First Willet passed away in February.  Also Mike made his first trip to Willet's in February.  I would be in big trouble if I failed to mention my wedding anniversary is also in February.


February 2014 will be remembered for being particularly harsh.  Also sad for me as my former business partner also passed this month.  Yes I am ready for March!

Had a nice talk with Bert Hakey today.  He and his wife are good houndspeople.

Hoping to breed a couple females soon.  Gotta keep moving forward...
